We’re so glad you’ve registered to be a Nevada Girls State delegate! We hope you’re as excited to join us as we are to meet you! This page will give you some more information about the program.
What You Can Expect
Nevada Girls State is an exciting, fast-paced week where you’ll dive into how city, county, and state governments really work — all through hands-on activities, simulations, and leadership experiences. Here’s what you need to know before you arrive:

- You’ve Made a Commitment: Once you’re registered, people are counting on you to be there. That means clearing your schedule — no work shifts, vacations, or other programs during the week. Make sure it’s marked on your family calendar and you’re ready to fully participate.
- Be All In: This is a full-time experience, and we expect you to take part in every activity. It moves fast, and there’s no room for outside commitments like summer school or other programs.
- Learn by Doing: This is a nonpartisan program that explores how local and state government works. You’ll take on leadership roles, write and debate bills, and learn how communities are run — by actually doing it.
- Hear from Inspiring Voices: Throughout the week, you’ll meet guest speakers with a wide range of experiences and views. Their opinions are their own and don’t necessarily reflect those of Nevada Girls State or the American Legion Auxiliary.
- Respect Matters: Even if you don’t agree with what a speaker says, respectful listening is expected. That’s part of being a leader.
- It’s What You Make It: This week is about you — your voice, your ideas, your leadership. The more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it!
