Nevada Girls State, a program of the American Legion Auxiliary, is an Americanism study program open to female students who are currently Juniors in high school that we hope will be an interesting and exciting experience. Delegates to Nevada Girls State must be prepared to participate in a fast-paced week filled with information, training, and tools to help you become a more active and educated citizen.
During our week, delegates participate in elections in faux Cities, Counties, and Political Parties. Additionally, delegates listen to speakers from many backgrounds on a variety of topics. As Nevada Girls State and the American Legion Auxiliary are non-partisan, speakers express their own views, which don’t necessarily reflect the views of the program or its staff. Thus, while we ask that delegates keep an open mind and require respectfulness toward all speakers who graciously volunteer their time, delegates are never asked to accept the views offered by speakers.
We accept all students who identify as female and who are currently Juniors in high school and have paid the required fees.
