FOR SCHOOLS AND ALA UNITS
Help us find Nevada’s next participants
Most participants hear about Nevada Girls State from a teacher, a counselor, or a local American Legion Family organization. Here’s everything you need to share the program and help students attend.

Find your school’s ALA Unit
Many schools are paired with a local American Legion Auxiliary Unit that may be able to help with recruiting or fees. Find your school below.
Units can’t always provide funding, and students don’t have to work with their assigned Unit. If your school isn’t listed or if the contact is wrong, let us know. Students from unlisted schools work directly with Nevada Girls State.
For American Legion Family members
Nevada Girls State is one of the American Legion Auxiliary’s most important youth programs, and American Legion Family members make it possible. Here are three ways your Post, Unit, Squadron, or Riders can help.
1
Recruit
Contact your assigned schools in the fall. Drop off flyers, talk to counselors, or ask a past participant from your area to visit.
2
Sponsor
Pay all or part of a participant’s $400 in fees. Sponsor a student you recruited, or let us match your gift to a student who needs it.
3
Volunteer
Serve as a counselor or staff member in June, or help at the bus send-off or return.

How sponsorship works
- Tell us which student(s) you’re sponsoring, or ask us to assign one.
- Pay online with the Pay Fees form, or mail a check.
- We’ll confirm by email and send your student’s thank-you after the session.
